Perth Courier newspaper, 14 August 1868. "At Pakenham, on Wednesday, August 5th, after a short illiness, Robert Wilson, in the 39th year of his age. The deceased was the son of Mr. Thomas Wilson, of Lanark Township, and has gone down to the grave in the prime of life, universally beloved and respected by all who knew him. In early life be betook himself to study, and afterwards assumed the onerous avocation of School Teacher, in which capacity he continued up to the time of his death. He possessed a thorough facility of imparting instruction to his pupils, was kind and impartial to all those committed to his charge, ever diligent and untiring in his efforts for their welfare and advancement, and during his professional career made many bright scholars, some of who have become (can't read the last part of the line). ----- from his late residence in, Pakenham by a large number of friends and acquaintances, amongst whom were to be seen a number his former pupils from different parts, who assembled to pay the last tribute of respect to the remains of their once beloved tutor - in the cemetery near his father's residence, where he was interred, there to remain till the last trumpet shall sound. "Arise ye dead and come to judgement."

Perth Courier newspaper, 03 June 1910. WILSON - Mrs. Robert Wilson died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robson, at Souris, Manitoa, on May 21st. The "Gazette" says: Deceased was born in Lanark Township, the daughter of John Gunn and Jessie Macpherson, who came from Dundee, Scotland, in 1821 and settled in Lanark Township. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson were married fifty-nine years ago and to them eight children; six daughters and two sons, were born, all of who are still living. Mr. Wilson, who was a school teacher, and who taught in Ramsay and Almonte a good many year ago, died forty-one years ago. Mrs. Alex Shaw (whose husband was a druggist in Almonte), and Mrs. McLean of Balderson were sisters of the late Mrs. Wilson.
